College students are constantly looking for internship opportunities so they can get experience for their future full-time jobs. Having a good internship in your resume is crucial in the recruiters' eyes when they read it.
How to start?
Penn State is holding multiple career fairs on campus and I know most schools do as well. Showing up looking professional and meeting new recruiters is very important because you put your name in the business "map".
I got an internship opportunity back home two summers ago. I worked for a small partnership company that trades with many international businesses. During my time, I was eager to learn as much as I could. The company saw that and offered me a spot in the international panel in Netherlands.
When I found out, I was excited and anxious at the same time. I knew I had to prepare well in order to excel. I spent a lot of time studying and when we got in Netherlands, I presented a small project I had prepared in the meeting.
This experience didn't only give me confidence for my career, but also helped my small partnership firm increase trade in the market and make new deals.
Even though this was my first internship, I still have it in my resume because it shows the recruiters how passionate and hard-working I am.
